Pine Bough by Barbara Storey

Barbara Storey

Stratford, ONTARIO - Canada

I am a photographer, digital artist, and writer - a maker of things.

I love to write, to read, to travel, and I'm also crazy about baseball. I was born and now live in Canada, but I'm a former resident of New York City and miss it very much.

I studied Art History at Barnard College in NYC, and have been in love with art of many kinds since I first set foot in an art museum - it was the Metropolitan Museum of Art, in NYC, and I was in my early twenties. But it was only later in life that I became brave enough to make art of my own, using a camera, creating digital art with apps and software, and just now I am starting to pick up a paintbrush. It's very exciting!

Thank you for visiting!

Artist statement

I have lived several different, interesting lives in both North America and Europe, but through them all, one thing has remained true: creating is essential. Images or words – as long as I am making something and telling a story, I'm happy. The genres that call to me most are nature photography and abstracts - between those two extremes, I find amazing opportunities to express myself.

My favourite art quote: "Life is your art. An open, aware heart is your camera. A oneness with your world is your film." ~ Ansel Adams
