I travelled to the Big Island, Hawaii with my husband in the summer of 2016. Almost every night I had a dream that my oldest son had died. In my anguish I decided to tell a story of Life using a favorite picture of my son and flower images of the trip including my hand holding a bloom. I focused on Life, not Death, when creating this image of the two of us. Interestingly, the dreams stopped after this. This image helped me realize the power of art as an emotional catharsis.
