"My paintings are colorful fantasies that incorporate forms, color, and pattern elements in an abstract fashion. With a multi-layered approach I create a world of depth, color, and abundance.
As a former graphic designer for print and animation, I spent years looking at and manipulating imagery used in children’s books and television. I take that sense of color and whimsy and paint it as an exploration of paint, color, and light. Abstract shapes and patterns from disparate sources are combined. It can start with a shape, a mark, and an idea of light and color. Recently, I have been inspired by organic forms. Combining forms and color in a way to create a fictional landscape, an underwater sea scape, or something that seems like it could represent nature, but ultimately is a fiction."
