large original oil painting of a semi abstract bluebell wood in Spring. This landscape is based on a real bluebell wood near Forest Row in East Sussex where I spent some time listening to the birds, smelling the scent of the flowers and generally just loving being in England. The painting is semi abstract and impressionist in style and reflects my memories of it rather than being a botanical study or an avian wildlife study. Blue tits flit around very fast and the bluebells themselves seem to shimmer. They play tricks on your eyes and I am pleased that I think I caught that effect in this painting. It is painted on deep edge canvas, edges white, ready to hang, no frame necessary.
