April in the Forest - a bluebell and wildflower woodland painting

An English woodland in Spring. The style is impressionist and expressionist and the colours are vibrant and rainbow. A red tree stands in the foreground with blue bells, buttercups and other wild flowers at it's base and beyond. In the distance is a a clearing where the light floods it between the leaves and branches of the trees. I painted this as England this winter has been spectacularly grey and I needed to remind myself of how beautiful Spring will be. The inspiration is loosely based on a walk I took near Hartfield in Sussex last year.
I am an artist based in Sussex, England and I paint large landscape paintings and seascape paintings in oil on canvas. My painting style is not always easy to define but has elements of abstract, Impressionist, Expressionist and possibly some Art-Nouveau. Although I have a fine art degree in sculpture (acquired at Brighton in 1983), I am largely self-taught as a painter.
