This artwork is painted in a semi-abstract, art nouveau style and shows a warm forest landscape with light coming through the trees. A tiger sits on a tree and dominates the landscape as tigers do. She is painted partly traditionally and partly in a painterly style which makes an interesting contrast. I am well aware of the danger tigers are in and so decided to paint a place where at least one can exist safely.
I am an artist based in Sussex, England and I paint large landscape paintings and seascape paintings in oil on canvas. My painting style is not always easy to define but has elements of abstract, Impressionist, Expressionist and possibly some Art-Nouveau. Although I have a fine art degree in sculpture (acquired at Brighton in 1983), I am largely self-taught as a painter.
