A large 36 x 48 x 1.5 inches semi abstract landscape painting of an English flower meadow. This painting shows a view across red poppies, buttercups and wildflowers. A path goes though them towards a gap in the trees behind them. It is an expression of the allure that countryside walking has where you always wonder what is in the next field or beyond the woodland. The flowers and trees are abstract in style but give the idea of summer flowers and grasses in all their enthusiasm to grow and seed as fast as they can. I tried to sum up meadow walking in this painting and in abstract style as it sits in my memory like that rather than botanically accurate details. It is another in a long series of my 'memory impressionism' paintings. Painted on deep edge canvas, white edges, no frame needed.
I am an artist based in Sussex, England and I paint large landscape paintings and seascape paintings in oil on canvas.
