The Discovery is a 30x40x1.5 inches semi abstract original landscape oil painting of a bluebell glade in a woodland in spring. It was inspired by April in England which is simply the best month of the year as it is when nature, birds, trees, insects and plants are going bonkers in their enthusiasm to reproduce. The painting is semi abstract in style and shows a glimpse of a pond in a a slightly hazy woodland glade. The colours are pinks, lilacs, greens and blues and look like the impression you get when you are in a bluebell wood with your glasses off - blurry and mysterious and magical. I live in Sussex which used to be one massive forest and all over it, it still had thousands of pockets of trees and woods that are ancient and varied in character. All are different in atmosphere though and this adds to their fascination. I love to walk in such places and I try to capture the thrill it gives me and pass in on via a painting. This one says what I want it to very well I think and I hope it inspires others to go walk wherever they are. Listen to birds, watch some nature, smell some flowers and see if life does not then look a whole lot better :-) White edges, deep edge canvas, ready to hang, no frame needed.
