‘Respect’ 40x30 Acrylic on Canvas
Part of ‘Worthy’ 2019

With Drag coming into our national collective experience with shows like rupauls dragrace and movies like a star is born it could be easy to forget how far we have come. The courage to stand up and do the hard work of performative gender (with an emphasis on performative!) is not easy. In a country built on puritanical notions even harder... This community of misfits, clowns, deep thinkers, rule breakers, punk rock boundary exploring people are worthy... worthy of ‘Respect’.
