This image is representative of some of my most recent and radical work. It is photography pushed to the extreme outer limits. The original photograph is of galvanized steel sheeting, selectively distressed with chemicals - muriatic acid, chlorine bleach, etc. The rest is in-camera and computer manipulation.
Print sizes refer to paper dimensions, not image dimensions. Prints on 17" x 22" paper are made with minimum 1" margins and are open editions. Larger prints are made with 2" margins and are limited editions. All prints are made by me and are signed front and back, and dated. Limited edition prints come with a signed certificate of authenticity.
Ed Freeman grew up in Boston and majored in French at Oberlin College in Ohio. After college, he worked as a performing musician, arranger and record producer on dozens of pop and jazz records, including Carly Simon's debut album and Don McLean's "American Pie." Starting twenty-five years ago, Freeman gradually transitioned to his other great love, photography.
