Inspired by classical painting of the hunt, the idea was to make a Thanksgiving dining room painting with a pheasant, a gun, and other elements. A stuffed toy duck was found and used for the pheasant. A toy gun was used for the rifle. Crampton was pet-sitting at the time for the quizzical "Snoopa" and he ended up in the painting too.
Carolyn Crampton born in Larchmont, New York. She received her BFA in painting from University of Colorado. Her painting studio is at Hunters Point Shipyard in San Francisco. Crampton lives with rescued rabbits. She wrote and illustrated the books “Rabbit Language or ‘Are you going to eat that?’ “, and the just released "Ladybird: My Eight Lives", and illustrated “Dumbunny”.
