Inspired by a classical post-hunt still life, Crampton painted her own pet rabbit, Ladybird, and other elements from life. Ladybird kept eating the grapes and thereby changing their position. For the rest of the process, the fruit was kept on a higher level. Later, Ladybird was able to enjoy some of it. Possibly the perfect dining room painting for vegetarians.
Carolyn Crampton born in Larchmont, New York. She received her BFA in painting from University of Colorado. Her painting studio is at Hunters Point Shipyard in San Francisco. Crampton lives with rescued rabbits. She wrote and illustrated the books “Rabbit Language or ‘Are you going to eat that?’ “, and the just released "Ladybird: My Eight Lives", and illustrated “Dumbunny”.
